GMS Contractual Information

Practice Statement of Intent

Plan to Meet  2015-16 Contractual Requirement for Patient Online Service

This practice plans to offer the facility for patients to view online, export or print detailed coded information held in their own records by 31st March 2016.

These dates are subject to the necessary NHS GP systems and software being available to the practice.

This practice already currently offers the facility for patients:

Book, view, amend, cancel and print appointments online

Order online, view and print a list of their repeat prescriptions for drugs, medicines or appliances

To view online, export or print summary information from their record, relating to medications, allergies, adverse reactions and any other items agreed between the practice and individual patient

Please note that there are circumstances where a GP may believe it is not in the best interests of the patient to share their detailed medical record with them, for example where it could cause harm to their physical or mental health.

2015-16 Contractual statement for Publication of GP Earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in The Hawthorns Surgery in the last financial year was £71, 704 before tax and National Insurance.  This is for 6 full time GPs, 1 part time GPs and 1 locum GP who worked in the practice for more than six months.

It should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other Practice.
